MUG Meeting Sept 12th, 2011

[16:51]  Antonius: Hey Jorie!!
[16:51]  Jorie: hi there
[16:52]  Antonius: Let me see if I can get this screen working...
[17:08]  Antonius: Take a look at the screen. Shows the undeclared vars feature. http://screencast.com/t/qnJ8Y15vg
[17:12]  Antonius: Hey there Pilot!
[17:12]  Pilot: G'day Ant, G'day everyone :)
[17:12]  Jorie: hi pilot
[17:12]  Jorie: i can see screen now
[17:13]  Pilot: Sorry Ant, got yer reminder, lol... I stuffed up our house, lol... Minor repairs... Hurricane Pilot went through. lol.
[17:14]  Antonius: How've you been Pilot?
[17:14]  Pilot: Not too bd thanks mate. How you been?
[17:14]  Pilot: Bloody busy RL, grandkids are a handful... Ugh...
[17:15]  Pilot: lol
[17:15]  Antonius: Oh I'm sure you love 'em. They keep you young.
[17:15]  Antonius: Ok. Busy two weeks. Made some good progress on v1.0.3.
[17:15]  Pilot: Good stuff! lol... Hopefully in the next few daze I can get back into it, lol.
[17:15]  Pilot: Young??? holy shit!!! lmao... Easy to see you're a young fella, lmao.
[17:15]  Antonius: I was going to show a couple more of the features I've finished.
[17:16]  Pilot: Cool.
[17:16]  Antonius: Can you see the screen? http://screencast.com/t/qnJ8Y15vg
[17:16]  Pilot: yeah mate, up & runnin'
[17:17]  Antonius: It shows how undeclared variables & functions will now be flagged.
[17:17]  Pilot: Now that I like, lol.
[17:17]  Antonius: Took more work than I thought, but it works.
[17:18]  Pilot: :)
[17:18]  Antonius: Trouble was I had to not only get it working for each properties editor, but I also added an overall check during generation of the LSL code.
[17:19]  Antonius: So as to not let anything through the cracks.
[17:19]  Pilot: Was the final check necessary?
[17:20]  Antonius: Yes, because some code is only generated when the final LSL code is generated. For example, LSL Actions.
[17:21]  Pilot: Ah yeah, forgot about Actions :)
[17:21]  Antonius: So I wanted to validate the parms passed to the actions.
[17:22]  Pilot: yep
[17:23]  Antonius: What's showing on the screen now is the State Variable/Function icon. http://screencast.com/t/2X5gg0ef2t
[17:23]  Pilot: Whoa, I like this bit :)
[17:23]  Antonius: Now you can quickly look over a model and see which states have variables or functions defined for them.
[17:24]  Pilot: :)
[17:24]  Antonius: As well, I enhanced the Show Comments feature (the button in the toolbar is selected) so that it will also include in the displayed comment extra design information about the component.
[17:26]  Antonius: So when the Show Comments button is selected you can just move the mouse over a component to see it's variables/functions as well as a list of events that are defined within the state.
[17:26]  Pilot: Whacko!
[17:27]  Antonius: The bottom of the State Editor will also display the icon if the containing state has variables/functions defined for it.
[17:28]  Antonius: You can also move the cursor over the icon to get a quick list of it's variables/functions as the screen now shows. http://screencast.com/t/ssoYPBBRHB
[17:28]  Pilot: Yer shuttin' all my loopholes Ant.
[17:29]  Antonius: Will really save opening and closing properties editors all the time to get at information.
[17:29]  Antonius: One by one Pilot.
[17:29]  Pilot: lol
[17:29]  Antonius: I'm slow, but thorough and persistent :-)
[17:29]  Pilot: Yer doin' fine ol' mate, lol.
[17:31]  Antonius: Two more features to go. I've started work on the Junction Point. This is a new modeling component that will let you merge transitions to a single point that has a single output transitions. Will make diagrams cleaner.
[17:31]  Pilot: :)
[17:32]  Antonius: Last one is adding multiple bends to a transition segment. Hopefully not too complex, but we'll see.
[17:32]  Antonius: After that updating MOAB with the latest LSL functions and lots of testing.
[17:33]  Pilot: hahaha, my model musta really got you you mate.... latest SL functions?
[17:33]  Pilot: races off to wiki....
[17:33]  Antonius: Well SL keeps on adding new ones, so got to get them supported in MOAB.
[17:34]  Antonius: I track their server releases to make sure that I don't miss any.
[17:34]  Pilot: Wish they'd add a Notecard writer.
[17:35]  Antonius: Server Release Channel: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Beta/LeTigre
[17:35]  Antonius: Yes re: Notecard writer for sure.
[17:36]  Jorie: notecard writer? what did i miss?
[17:36]  Antonius: Just wishful thinking here.
[17:37]  Jorie: =)
[17:37]  Antonius: Was showing Pilot the latest features I've finished for v1.0.3.
[17:38]  Pilot: Wishlist... InWorldz has one...
[17:39]  Pilot: Sorry bout that mate, had to duck away for a minute... Chickens went nuts, lol.
[17:40]  Antonius: You got interesting problems down under there Pilot.
[17:40]  Pilot: Nothin' like fresh eggs mate, lol.
[17:45]  Antonius: So you both are Phoenix experts. How do I turn off the the info pop ups on objects?
[17:45]  Pilot: Popups are controlled in preferences.
[17:45]  Antonius: Yes, but where?
[17:46]  Pilot: Now yer pushin' it, I'll look for you, lol.
[17:47]  Pilot: I know it is there because I've gottem disabled. Can be a real pain.
[17:47]  Antonius: Yes. Driving me crazy.
[17:49]  Pilot: Now it is driving me crazy course I can't find it, lol.
[17:50]  Antonius: Jorie: Do you know?
[17:50]  Jorie: sadly i dont
[17:50]  Jorie: im trying to figure alot of stuff out still
[17:51]  Jorie: im using the firestorm lately and im all at a loss
[17:52]  Pilot: FS is coming along quite well. I don't mind it at all now.
[17:53]  Antonius: I've got a real problem with the new SL viewer & FS. Still crashes my computer. Makes it really difficult to try and find a setting that will work.
[17:53]  Jorie: sorry back and forth cooking
[17:54]  Pilot: Yeah a friend of mine suffers the same Ant, but their problem is they cannot level the VBO and HTTP settings disabled. Crashes every few minutes.
[17:55]  Antonius: Yes. Frustrating. Can't get to see mesh stuff.
[17:56]  Pilot: Next time you try, disable all VBO and HTTP Get Textures settings and try that.
[17:57]  Pilot: Fair dinkum, I have no troubles with either LL's V3 or Firestorm mate, in either O/S.
[17:57]  Antonius: Ok will do.
[17:57]  Pilot: Either O/S = Lion, Win7 32bitin Parallels and Win 64bit in Boot Camp.
[17:58]  Antonius: I think it's my graphics card.
[17:59]  Pilot: Well the "Popups" are controlled in Preferences/Popups, but I guess you're after the help hints that keep coming up at your curors.
[17:59]  Antonius: Yes Pilot. It's the cursor stuff!!!
[17:59]  Pilot: Yeah... I'll hunt it down and let you know mate. (Ed. ==> Debug settings for ShowAllObjectHoverTip; ShowHoverTips; ShowLandHoverTip; & Menu Option: View...Hover Tips)
